Dear fellow amigans,

What made you an Amigan? Did you ever stop to think for once in awhile, we made this platform your choice, whether we consider it dead, alive. It's useful as a hobby, additional collection in/out our closets or in programming for fun, games, internet, DTP, Graphics, video, multimedia. Whatever was that thing that made us want to coming back to the Amiga? Was it a phenomenon? Sure the Amiga was, in 1985 superior, but what made it unique is that up to now, many people still use it. A man named Jay Miner gave us part of his life working and designed it. That includes the other wonder engineers behind the machine. Their dedication, devotion and love were imprinted forever in history of our hearts. It was good, it was sweet.
I will surely miss the time I first fell in love with this computer! The Amiga1000 wowed people. However, Commodore made bad decisions most of the time. Later, the community picked up where Commodore left. Ebay will never stop getting offers here and there on Amigas. Web sites, or other communities may have come and gone, or may have change but people will never change the way the Amiga made them the way they were.

Most people would probably think this post is full of bull crap and all, but it's my right to say this for the community I so dearly love, no matter what creed and interests, I still hold that interest in it.

No such words can explain how I feel about this platform. Your views may differ from mine, but I will always hold true to my love for this machine. I can't explain what enchantment this wonderful thing it holds, but I can't let go of it. Despite the adversities in life may bring. It's no longer a question of pride. It's just that I don't want to loose that magic that Amiga still has me keeping coming back. All those old times may never comeback again, but the memories live on in each and every Amigan! Let us respect each others views and set aside differences and help us continue that magic to live on for the future. Maybe the Amiga won't be around in another 10 years, but I want the legacy of the Amiga Platform to be remembered, with respect and glory. I want future generations to know that the Amiga that changed ours/my life forever.
For posterity purposes this serves, no matter what happens, it does not change the way I look at the Amiga platform. Life and times were hard and short, but we could always make things better for each and everyone of us. As a part of this community and as an individual, I want everyone to know that this phenomenon we call the 'Amiga' has been, in the past, present and future, always the greatest computer any person deserves! I grew up with it. I've out grew it. I don't consider the Amiga just a mere computer, It will always be My Amiga. I already consider this a privilege to be part of the community of Amiga users. Best of all I did it! The Amigan way!

A hearty weekend!

A visit from Edwin's place has been a very productive one(*ahem, despite the fact that I also borrowed some money). I twiked his IBM PC 750. It's an old Pentium 166 Mhz. Loaded with a Windows98. Took his memory from his old Clone P166Mhz and place all his EDO ram. From 32MB now a whooping 80MB. But still not fast enough to run Winfellow in considerable speeds. It took me sometime to boot OS3.1 and WB3.1 for about 3 mins, tops! Talk about slow emulation. I tried to play a game using it. Tried to run a game 'Firepower.ADF' from his files and gee, it boots, but It hanged!

Might as well get him a download version of Winuae. He has no internet connection. I'll download him the AF6 version of WinUAE because I like this 0.8.25beta version better than the newer version. 0.9.xx by now.

I also check my old A500 I pawned to him. It had a floppy trouble. Let me see, how will I explain this.... The eject button button would not retrack whenever a disk is inserted. Furthermore, He tied a small rope to retrack it manually. To my dismay, I start to disassemble it and fixed the old bugger. Put some lubricant under the 2 rack frame that's with the floppy. Now It's like new again!
The problem was simply, there's much friction which prevents it to slide whenever the disk is inserted! We also talked about my friend at JTJT about a certain IDEbuffer for his A500. I planned to buy it for my own, but since he needed it more than I do, I opened the topic and plan to get it for Edwin. We also talked about me and why I should sell my A1200 to him. He said to me that the A1200 is a Gem I should not get rid off. He asked why I want to get rid of it, because...(just read My life with Credit Cards!! A Curse!!) that article explains it all. He manages to talk me out of it, so I did. Well, even my own wife don't want me to get rid of my Amiga. Only My own mommy wants to get rid of it. She thinks it's obsolete! Well, technically speaking, it is. Do I need to start on this!!!??!!
Well, the next day, I was so tired to go online that I slept the whole afternoon. So nothing much happened yesterday.
Today, I just SMS my friend at JTJT about the A500IDEInterface, and well, Up to now, as of 11 am, has not responded yet? I want to see if he's around later, by lunch time. So I'll know if he still works there or not anymore. I hope he still do. Keep you posted by updating this blog. Till later.

GAH!!! He's not in the office. Came back twice. He's not there! Anyway, I hope he'd be showing up tomorrow. I really need it like my life depends on it!! Arrgh!

It's my second day to wait for my girlfriend to get home. I'm staying up a little longer today in the office. Hoping up until 8 pm. While I'm at it, I'll be lurking over amiga.org for a little chat. I tried to buy a new domain name

I've applied for a new domain name at PlogHost.com and probably be able to pay them by Friday, that's tomorrow. I'm hoping a user friendly Cpanel tool unlike the one at webhelps.com. which seems to have problems with my Amiga side of it when editing the web panel itself of the site. So as soon as all goes well I'll transfer all existing resources to my new web domain of my own with
75MB webspace at 2000MB bandwidth speeds. . That's good enough for me. As soon as this is up- I can use my existing domain name to path through my Forum/s sites. I might even leave blogger for good or maybe not. I'll wait and see.

I was trying to access my ranks which however, is already there. Seem to be giving a few lags. I checked my other sites like my own blog seems fine. I hope it's temporary and beyond my control ATM. It Hurts

I didn't go to the office today. My chest was aching. It felt painful then. Whan I tried to get up, I was shivering and yet It was not that cold this morning. Anyway, I drop off mmy wife to the terminal station and later my mom to their work.
In the lighter side, last Friday, I manage to create a new Message board again and closed down the other. The invisionfree site was cool, but the default domain name was so difficult to remember. So I decided to close that account and start a new one. The new site is at friendsterpals board . I manage to copy(again) the concept of friendship theme of the board to see if someone would sign up. I'll give this site 2 months life and see if I can manage to invite other people other than Locally here. Well, not what I mean is close to my friends relation thing. I'll if that would work. I was thinking if I could also create a new category where non-members CAN post. At least give it a try!
I encourage all to try it out this time! It will need a little trial basis! Till next blog!

Blog Free weekend, 5610 Dhrystone speed!

I feel so lazy today. I spent the whole of my free afternoon in my room. Not much action. happened. Anyway, Just after lunch, I wondered while I was looking at my Accelerator board and noticed another crystal clocked at 28.7 Mhz lying around. Then I thought of Installing it to my Accelerator board, I had a second slot. Hmmm, to my amazement It has improved my Speed in Dhrystones from 4910 to a whopping 5102. I was glad the old Crystal is still working after all these years in storage!
Something came to ny mind, suddenly! I took my spare GVP accelerator and I checked the crystall installed and I found out it's 40.00Mhz! I immediately took the crystal and installed it in the other, replaced the 28.7 Mhz one and put it in the GVP, Yes the old Accelerator is now clocked at 4010 Dhrystones. The Viper Accelerator was Clocked at 5610 Dhrystones tops! Now It's over clocked just a tiny fraction of the origial speed. 5060 Dhrystones! 'Cawabonga!!' According to Sysinfo to 'Smell that rubber!' Comment! Man! I'm inpressed myself! I'm one happy Amigan!

My life with Credit Cards!! A Curse!!

This is probably one of my unusual blog entries that concern about my Amiga. Yesterday, my mother was so upset from all the expenses and which one has to be done first. However, in order to do my part in helping to cut expenses cost I have to budget my credit card payments. Since in the beginning, last year when it all started, I've been plagued by credit card rates that bloated out of control and beyond my salary amount. One load led to another and another just to compensate to the old. It first started from HSBC which lead to standard charter to cover it. So I've finally manage that. Then Another expense came which lead me to renew My expenses on my standard charter. Then came my girlfriend which lead me to spend much of my card so I have get another card. Bankard. So most of my expense were deducted there for the moment. Still manageable. Then came Citibank, there, that's when my spendign spree came. I almost spent it to shopping and purchases just for her. Soon as I got her home, I've spent 45,000 pHp in total debt! I'm still in the burden of repaying all of it. Right now I'm flat broke and still waiting to get the money from my measely salary to pay all these card bills and phone bill. Yes my mobile that reaches almost 1,500 php a month, bloating out of proportion. In order to free me of this debt, It came to my mind I should sell my A1200 to my best friend Edwin at a price of 20,000 php. Last night, my wife(formerly my girlfriend) told me not to sell it. I'm still in the dark side of things. I needed it badly and have to sell it out. At least I could get a new PC by Aug or Sept.

How I feel about this? Well, I feel like it's the only answer to my soaring problem. Mommy is still upset about spending her part of her card load she also plagued. with interest that soar almost 6000 php!! There's just not enough left for the family's other expenses. Very very bad! I don't know if getting a credt card is a blessing or a curse!! To my experience, at first it was a blessing, but as time goes by and you were tempted to spend more on these God forsaken cards!! It's becomming a menace!!! A curse!! A plague! My advice never get one. You likely be tempted sooner or later! I feel like the character in the Lord of the Rings, named Golum(smeagol) when he got the Ring! He was devastated in the end. You too will be into one when you get a credit card! Don't get one! Or leave it home!!! Rely on yourself!!! As soon as I paid it all off, I'm going to end my nightmares and throw all my cards into the volcanoe if I have to!!

Not a good day for my wallet.

Just as I got off my ride this morning, I seem to have lost my wallet. Darn it! That's the third time. I'm just luck there are not much ID and not much important things inside the wallet. Just the picture of my wife. I'll but a new, but cheaper wallet to replace it and that reminds me to stop wearing those pants that's too comfortable. I mean, the pants feels so loose that I thought I placed my wallet inside! Darn! It's just really not a good day for my wallet!!

Super Street Fighter 2(The Story)

I slept very early last night, yet I felt tired. Not sure why, but this morning I manage to wake up soo early yet I got late 1 minute at work! I hate that traffic bull-hog!!! Anyway, I'm back again.

Well, It's been 3 days since my last blog. Well This week I expect to take a leave, again on the 3rd day of March to deal with my license, my yearly physical check-up and the release of my NSO permit.

I was so busy having a great time with my self. I manage to play Super Street Fighter 2(Amiga Version). I know it's pretty old game, but it was my favorite. At first I was looking for my .ADF files of it since I've already stored them as .ADF's and so much hassel came before playing them. First, I was looking for some decent floppies to store them temporarily to it by extracting them from .ADF. I had about 4 floppies to contend with since I disposed other 4 with bad blocks and scratch surfaces! Yes, lots of scratch surfaces. So I manage to extract them after 4 hours of testing them, that Friday morning. By afternoon, I've installed them into hard drive via installer script. It went well. Its the playing part that had me bugger out! A first game.
Round 1: I selected Ken(My all time favorite). Just as it was up, I manage to throw the first punch! Whak! It stops! It hanged!!
Round 2: I reset my amiga and gone into Shell-mode(yes, ala windows XP)activated my Opus and ed. Copied all those degrader programs into the boot disk... Edited startup-sequence.. added those degraders before calling the game. I tried just about 4 of them. From tude, runit, stepdown000, and MemDoubler. No luck! It hangs still! I loose!
Round 3: Been all day without any progress with the software side. I manage to try my luck with hardware. Removed my accelerator and boot from disk, but my IDE-Fix still intact. >POW< It won't load! The main program won't load!
Round 4: The next day, Saturday afternoon, I tried to play it from floppy. At the early startup - I disabled all Hard drive partitions! It ran! The game ran without hanging! I don't want to spoil the fun but It's really tough to play on floppies with all that swapping!!(7 floppies) So I still loose!!!
Round 5: The next day, Sunday afternoon. I was thinking: It ran normally with only the floppy, why not try it on Hard drive! Turned on my Amiga, Shell-mode and created on the fifth partition an S: sub-dir, activate ed and created a startup-sequence, Typed in the the game in hard drive mode, Reboot, went to early start-up settings, Disabled all floppies, first to fourth and sixth partition. Left the fifth partition to boot from it. Started the game. No hanging! I win!
Round 6: I selected Ken, tried it at defult level, I beat everyone and see the CONGRATULATIONS screen and finished the game without any sort of problems! The only Problem is that I don't have my accelerator in my Amiga and My wife needed to do some word processing that evening and she need the internet. I loose!

Lesson learned. It's not always a winning game when you play the Street Fighter 2 - The Story! Bah humbug!!

Torn!

It may come as a surprise, but my mommy decide to give me a brand new, fully loaded, P.C. A probable specification maybe P4 2GHz. My craving for something new kicks-in like a tiger on its prey! Even my wife thinks it likewise. My wife is also considering to get a cheaper PC for their family. Now I'm thinking, maybe giving-up my A500 would be nice, since all they have to do is only word processor. I have pro-write and final writer 2(installed in my A1200). I also have an old Epson LX800 printer which it badly needs a new ribbon. ATM the A500 is not with me right now, cause I pawned it to my good friend, Edwin. Now I was thinking to pay it soon as they need it. However, the disk drive needs a lot of maintenance. When you insert the disk, the switch that detects the presence of a floppy disk is not entirely 'clean'. Sometimes you have to re-insert it in order for it to be detected. That's the only problem. Now, getting a replacement is another problem. That's where my friend Ross steps in to replace it. I don't mind a Double density drive. Anyone who needs to begin learning Amiga should start here. Since the people my wife's brother would have it.
Besides, Giving my Amiga500 would be a good start. I just hope they take good care of my baby. They'll just need a new T.V. monitor for it. This could really get expensive. I don't have a monitor for it and I'm not ready to go out and invest into one. Now a multi-system T.V. is affordable. . The other problem is my A1200. I still need the baby. At least in programming and audio editing, that's all, but with a new PC, it can be a video editing monster, much powerful than my measly A1200. 10 folds even. My plans of getting a new A1 or micro A1 system is torn between an X86 machine which can do more than my present system right now. That's what's been hapenning in the Amiga community right now. Torn between a new system and a classic one. The only hope is that KMOS would do some marketing scheme to, at least, promote a new Amiga. I doubt it for now. Even if they do right now, it would be too expensive. Maybe as expensive to an IMac. The IMac can do a lot than a PC I could think of. In terms of functionality or tyhe works, in general.
I'm just torn personally on what to do with my Amiga and it's not pretty good. I can't maintain this much longer. Although, I can still use it. I just don't want to use the PC much than it. I have winuae, I can run it there too. Just that, It's not the real mccoy! The Amiga feel is what I will miss. It's rather different when you're using a PC or Amiga or Emulated Amiga on a PC. Emulation relies on the hardware too. But I like a real pure breed Amiga. Getting torn here is not my ideal PC based amiga in mind. This is ggetting too sad for me to continue on. So I'll just stop for now.

On the other hand, I've been on my site lately, and boy, I tried everything to get people to visit it. I'm still wondering how deal with getting more hits and getting more members registered. It's just plain tough after all. I'd rather moderate the site than playing the waiting game. I envy the other forum sites that had hundreds of members. I wish I have it too. , Well life has to go on I guess.

Finally finished work. Up and coming Holiday

I finally finished the inventory of Books and CD. The boss made me in-charge of it all last week to organize all of them and retrieve some that were not returned. Man, I hate it when others would not return what they borrowed a year or two ago, and tell you "I don't have it." Anyway, I'm now getting things into perspective of the library. Might as well do it and do it well.

In some other concerns, had a new member. Welcome to the boards ! I'm still thinking ways to promote the site. I hope Mdavis could help me out here. Need it badly.. Maybe I might be able to find a way to use the blogger.com to do that. I just wonder, If I start posting into every comments I run across Blogspot, they'd probably ignore it. Maybe that's the last thing I'll do. I hope there are other places. I've tried even at friendsters , no one still goes and register. Maybe I need more time for this. Boo hoo!!
Well, speaking of Fridays. It's our local holiday this coming Friday and I hope all is well and be online then. That would be fun!Well, at least for me.

A busy week for the Amigan!

Well, Since I got back, I finally was able to write my blog again after weeks of absence. Reason is I was busy doing a little library work. As in lots of books I had to code into database so I can easily find most of the reference.

Now that's over, I had a little bad experience with my ever faithful Amiga1200 at home during those days. The problem was its keybaord. the Backspace does not work, no matter how hard I try to press it. Nothing happens. Also other keys like letters 'Z' to '/'. Pretty weird. So I get all my cleaning stuff, like a cotton rag, a canister of Contact cleaner and some alchohol, Yes, rubbing alchohol. I disassembled the top over and carefully remove the cable where it's fasten to the board. Soon As I loosen it, I also removed the plastic lock that holds the thin cable at the socket. As it was removed, there were several metal exposed. So I clean those metal and also wipe with a rag drentched with a little rubbing alchohol to dapen it a bit. As soon as it's clean, finally put it back and tested the keyboard to see if what I think it is, is just dirt problems. As soon as the Amiga was up. I tested the keyboard on the shell window to see all the said keys would work again. To my relief, it works again!

Last day to be single

It's final, I'll wed my fiancee tomorrow. I can't beleive the day is almost finally here. This marks my last day being a single guy. What would this concern my Amiga? This would affect my computing life tremendously. I'm not going to leave my interest in amiga, but will rekindle and probably pass on my knowledge to my, soon to be, family. Yesterday, I spent my time with my fiancee watching T.V. all day. I tried to log-in, but she insisted that I should be beside her. She feels secure that way. :-) Anyway, I'm was prepairing to write the story when she asked me to do a checklist of chores to do at home. I had to type it. So no story was submitted that day. I'll try it today if possible. I'm still not sure what to write it ATM. I'll figure it out sometime eventually. ;-)

Busy body since Thursday

This is my chance to blog now. Been busy doing, oh inventory our Office Library Resources. Man, the stuff that I have to do! Well, it all started just the other day when the president got a new software. Of course the accounting has the upperhand and started to ask questions. Well since I'm no longer at my old department, I just said familiar but not updated. So they ask someone from my former dapartment staff the project. The next few days were quiet till the accounting staff asked me where to find a list of softwares/books that are not or am not aware it exsisted. So I propose to do an inventory of the whole library and see if the ones our accountant were looking for is still there. If not, then we'll talk to our supervisor on whose accountability will it go to. I sure don't want to be part of that!! First of all, I'm not yet in the department when those books gone missing!!!! Second, I don't/won't pay for those books! They're way expensive!!! The Hell with it!!!

The past 2 days were busy arranging all for my civil marriage. Tying up loose ends and hope things would fall into place. I spent almost 1k Php on it, but it's worth it. I'm still a bit nervous cause I don't want any more 'requirements' that would pop up on the last minute! You know how it is on the government. :-P
Anyway, need to get ready as the days count down closer to me being a familyman. I may never know how it feels until I get there, but I hope that I would cope with the problem that comes with it. Problems are part of our live. We've probably die of boredom without it. 'You can't live too much of it and you can't live without it.'

Yesterday's blog had a lot of gramatical erros in what I typed. I edited the whole blog and republished. I'm still bothered by the impending avalanche of bills that it is to come! I just could not think straight! I'm trying to create a presentation this morning, nothing is coming out of my creative mind! This really getting to me!! Speaking of the devil the billing statement came, I'm about to open it just as I type this...looking........... looks like my minimum is 1669 php for this month, due on the 2/6/05... should take note the latest bill did not made it yet... gosh there's the globe payment worth 2466.28 that cost me a lot then my payment after the at 2000 flat. still got 466.28 balance......... oh look credit shiled premium... it's those f.... premium f... insurance... cost 118.23... It's ovious I have no choice but to pay up for the minimum!!! f.... those credits!!!! I'm not this usually cranky, but in this case I'm starting to be..... Right now I felt a bit disappointed on myself. It's about my Credit Cards! The credits are no longer available on my 3 three cards. Now I must find a way to pay for it. That means, I will sacrifice my whole months paycheck to makeup for cradit dues I owe my cards. I really hate it! I kind of wished I never got them in the first place! All in all it cost no more than 45,000 php. I got to find someone to talk to about this problem.
I hope some of my online buddies would care to shed a few good points on what I should do. :-(
Next time I never going to get those stupid crdit cards! Ever! Curse those Credit Cards!!! Argh!!!
Anyway, last Friday, I relocated my Amiga in my room from the old room, the next step was getting an extension wire all the way from the old lab attatch from the telephone line to the room. So now I can go online. :-)

No not my forum site, my computer was relocated last night in my room from my previous computer lab. The reason, my fiancee wanted to watch T.V. Now all I have to do to get online is to buy a very long RJ11 cable from that room to my room. Quite aukward. Now the whole room is filled with stuff. Anyway, at least I can now do it in my room. All is well last friday's kickstart of my forum website. The problem right now I'm facing is why is there only a handful that registered, but does not post anything yet? I was thinking maybe it's new to them. Most people need to get used to forums like I did? I was visiting other forums that are also new. Some of them were created a year back, but it was never active? Makes me wonder if mine will have the same impact. I should try hard to get more and more users. I also made Marvin the official moderator. I hope he's busy getting more users too. There was 1 user already. Hope count rises more at his side. My side is the busy types. The other night my fiancee told me to leave the games behind, at the time I was testing of Grand Prix Circuit from CAP I downloaded. That means no more playing games. So it started yesterday that I have to cut down playing games to avoid anymore misunderstanding. I love her very much and I don't want to break that promise. As long as I can still go to the internet and do AMOSPro, studying C/C++ and all. There's not much I coould do. I was thinking of Uninstalling most of my games in my harddrive to give way for a more productive programs I want to run. I'm going to miss the good ol gaming days. The reason I love the Amiga so much. Anyway, I have to move on to the future and make the Amiga useful than games. That includes PC Games, PS1,2 Xboxes, GameCube etc, etc....

StormC haangs on my A1200

Well the re-installatiion went pretty welll. GoldEd loadded pretty nicely. What bothers me is that running a program bothers me. As soon as the program ends after compiling, linking... it hangs and guru(software failure). My only alternative was just 'Make' the program and run the executable program. That appears to havve no problem that way. Howw come I feel uncomfortable the way it does it. My PC in the office running WINUAE had no problem running a program. It never hangs. Well, the reason was the CPU is set at '040. My A1200 had only '030. Even with the MMU and all that in place, same thing. It hangs after the program runs. Guess I'll jutss stick on copiling first then run the compiled program. saffer that way.
To a personal note: Me and my fiancee had the house clean and clothes washed yesterday. What bothers me when mommy was upset to me. I just hope I'd be able to cope with the problem. I can't write it yet here. I just could not make out the words yet. My fiancee and I was upset over that. I just want my financial crisis over the better.

Another Monday came. Yesterday I was glimpsing all my C/C++ storm sample programs under my A1200 a home. When I was about to complile my simple 'Hello World' print out to screen program, it crashed! Today, since I dindn't make it to the office and a bit open, I decided to re-install it 3rd time again. My second time, I tried to use the editor(built-in called GoldED) but It keeps prompting a volume name 'GoldED". I know I have to manually assign it again to a certain volume, but I'm still not sure where the program is calling the editor. My best bet would be deleting all files installed and re-install it but this time a cleaner re-installation.
I'm just not sure How will I'd be able to fix it for now??? Right now I'm just guessing this fix. Till next Blog.

The reason for this blog i've created is to vent out my feelings for programming. It has always been my childhood fascination to computers and to create a wonderful programs that could entertain or help myself and others. Then the Amiga came in to my life. It sure changed my whole life. Amiga is *THE 'computer for the creative mind'.
On the subject of C++, I'm really looking forward to review the basics and advance programming. Hopefully all the documentations I downloaded from amigau is enough for me to get started again. I also have with me a book 'The C Programming Laguage" by Brian W. Kernighan & Dennis M Ritchie. This book was with me since college and I'm going to start using it again. I'll be using Storm C version 3.0 for the Amiga. This will take some time to browse and try out the sample programs. Hmmm I feel excited already.
I hope there won't be any work today so I can concentrate on learning C for the day. Quite excited. Got to go not. Till next blog.

Yesterday afternoon, an hour before I go home from work, I came by Software Hut to check out a certain programming language to see the updated version.
Yes I'm talking about Storm C. It's a middle level programming language for the Amiga. I have right now, Version 3.0. The latest so far is 4.0 at $200++, way too expensive. But, the upgrade edition is only $99. Since I have version 3.0 I probably won't mind purchasing it. I manage to finally made it compiled and/or run some sample C programs. It looks promising. Promising enough for me to go and take C/C++ again. At least I'll be able to create applications under Workbench. This is one to main limitation of AMOSPro right now.
That is, If I'll ever have the credit power to do it. ATM I'm prepairing for our civil marriage of me and my fiancee. We already set a date last night, after we drove to her parents and annouce our plans. So maybe It could wait.
My office mate today also emailed me a note from a company hiring a web adminstrator. Sounds like a big opportunity for me to get me back up to my finances, hopefully. It's all happening soo fast. I can't decide which to go for first. Maybe eventually things will fall into place. ;-)

It was a very turbulant year that was, with all the deaths and calamities that's been happening despite of which most of you people that are fortunate should be thankful for it eventhough it maybe bad, as long as you and your families are still together. Hoping for a better year next year, no similar to this year which is bad to some. But, I don't complain, 2 years ago dad died already, I'd say that was a loss so my family, what's left of it(me and mommy) is still together and hopefully my fiance will refill that missing gap that dad left.

Back to work again. First day in the office for the whole year. This year I'll expecting wedding bells and such. I'm hoping also thlat I'll be able to get enough money for it as well. Maybe if I try hard enough, I will. I still keep hearing wedding bells. :-)

My fiance's last day at work yesterday. I'm unable to blog yesterday because I felt that the day was not enough for myself anymore. I seem to miss her altogether. She was happy to be back at home again. :-) I miss her presence as well. I probably will have not much time alone with my Amiga anymore cause I'd be spending it again on my fiance. I have to accept the fact that I can't live alone anymore, now that I also want to have the company of my loving sweetheart by my side. I've long for her presence now more than before. Well, maybe I'd do my Computing much in the office now. But I'd probably stay away from forums for this year cause I don't want to affect my work at the office anymore, unfortunately. So, I'd probably blogging most of my time from now on than anything else. Unless I need to do something that I'd still don't know yet, but It does not mean I'd be leaving the forums for now. I'll probably be just lurking. BTW, this is not a New Year Resolution cause I'd probably just break it anyway. I just don't feel like be doing much online activity for this year. Like I said before, I'm keep hearing wedding bells and need to work for it now, maybe later, I'd announce in someway.

Last night I dreamt my dad gave me a scooter. Pretty odd for a dream because It's quite the opposite. Dad would never give me a scooter? Much as it's a broken down one. He he he.. me and my dreams. A journey's first few steps

I was busy last Dec30th cause my girlfriend did not go to work and she
had to stayed home to help mommy out on our new year feast. :-D Happy
New Year to all visitors.

Anyway, Marlon has SMS me for a request the other day that he wanted to
know how to run WinUAE under WindowsME and what's the procedure. Well,
you're in luck. So, here's a few things you should do in order to start
using WinUAE. I assume you've already covered all the aspect of the Amiga
Hardware and Opearating Systems. If not, Don't continue and go back
to www.AmigaU.com for a more thorugh review on each machines, ROMS and the
like. Else, you may want to proceed or you won't have any idea what I'm
talking about.

First, the easy part:
1. You should purchase an orignal Product CD from Software Hut Inc. or
other/similar sites like AmigaKit.com, or Versalia that sells
AmigaForever CD version From Clanto for $59(price at the time of my
purchase). All you need to start WinUAE is in that package. From ROM
images of early Amigas A1000 to A4000Desktops. to Workbech 1.0 to 3.x.

Or... do the hard part:
1. You would like to visit Amiga Forever website at URL:
http://www.amigaforever.com/kb/6-102.html
to further enhace yor knowledge on how to use Emulation of Amiga on
your PC.
2. Download the my version at URL:http://www.winuae.net/frames/download.html
the official website for downloading the latest version of UAE for
Windows. I'm using version 0.8.22 beta 1 the R1. You may want to download the
latest if you want, but I want you to be familiar to what I use ATM so
I can easily pointout to which is better or this or that tab.
3. After downloading it. Set it up to automatically install. Run the Check
mark Icon when you see it.
4. Configure first the video and chipset you want to use. Load the recommended
ROM kickstart image you want to enable your emulation with:
amiga-boot-a1000.rom amiga-ext-130-cdtv.rom
amiga-ext-310-cd32.rom amiga-os-100.rom
amiga-os-110.rom amiga-os-120.rom
amiga-os-130.rom amiga-os-204.rom
amiga-os-300.rom amiga-os-310-cd32.rom
amiga-os-310.rom
the extension are designation of what type of OS rom image after that
correspont with the number or version of OS. Like 110 means KickStart
Version 1.10. as 'amiga-os-110.rom' and 'amigaos-110.adf'.
Note: These are copyrighted files. You just can't get these things just
by downloading them.
5. After selecting your KickStart ROM file. You can now select the WorkBench
version which correspond with the ROM image. Except for cdtv and cd32 which
are the Console version and it only needs an orginal boot CDROM in order to run
CDTV or CD32. The floppy version of these files are in .ADF or Amiga Disk
Format. It is a virtual floppy for the PC to be able to load it in a virtual
Floppy Drive, which can be called while the emulation is running just by
pressing 'F12' key and selecting the Floppy tab you'll 'put' or 'Insert' the
Floppy disk(.ADF file). Here are the Workbench files in .ADF

af-boot.adf amigaos-100-wb.adf
amigaos-110-wb.adf amigaos-120-wb.adf
amigaos-130-wb.adf amigaos-200-wb.adf
amigaos-204-wb.adf amigaos-210-wb.adf
amigaos-300-wb.adf amigaos-310-wb.adf

The ROM Image correspond to Workbench versions as well. It is also capable to
be backward compatible. Like, your Kickstart version is 'amiga-os-310.rom' and
'amigaos-100.adf'

NOTE: Although .ROM files are seldomly found on the internet, you can download
most .adf files. Speciall early floppy based games found in site(legally)
at URL: http://www.back2roots.org
Find the ADF section to run all floppy based games.

Well, that's it for now. If you need *more help just post any questions on the
comments section so I could further clarify all your queries. On the later blogs,
I show you some tips on how to install AMOSPro and compiler under WinUAE if you're
interested to program.

Back from vacation at least for the next day. I was not able to blog yesterday. I have to do some late Christmas shopping with my girlfriend, just had a day off yesterday. Didn't spent much, what I'm worried about is the expense I'm going to cash out by the 30th. Quite enough to repair a kitchen that is. :-( That's quite a sum of money. I'll be force to use my other resting Credit card for cash advance. with a monthly 3% interest. Quite heavy for me. I just hope I'll be able to get enough cash to pay it all off. That includes 2 other credit cards and a mobil bill. AAAAAAAAAAAarrrrgh!!! This really BITES!!!!! I wish I could pay them all soon! It's choking me to *DEATH* aaaaaaaaarrrrgh!!!!!!!!

Anyway, I'm here at the office doing video editing from my mobile and transferring all to VCD format so I can Archive it forever. :-) Hope to finish it all in one whole day or 2 since there's not much clients and presentations to prepair for now. :-)
Then I'll be able to continue my program which I failed to followup on since last Christmas was busy. It shows on my mobile video. Too bad I can't post it here or even a few pictures yet.

Yahooooo! It's just 24 more hours left till I get to have my vacation. I got up very late today. Well, I don't mind as long as I get here in the office safely. I just hope I can have a few things done. Last night I taught my girlfriend's brother how to use a work processor FinalWriter2 on the Amiga. Just to have an idea how to use one. It's just plain suck these future generations has to be taught computer basics on a PC. I wouldn't mind to teach it, but It's against my principles specially that I'm an Amigan. :-( *Sigh.
Now MicroAmigaOne(�A1) is all being talked about in the latest forums lately at Amiga.org,(BTW it's back since yesterday). I was considering getting one *if I get the chance for a large sum of money. Which I need it for my fiance's repair job of their home back in the province. Alas! I'll never have the chance to get one �A1 or at least Pegasus2 system. I'm also trying to check out, soon as it's completed, what AROS is all about.

Anyhow, I dont't want to spoil the nice spirit of fun this season. Let's just enjoy the holidays like the last year or the year before.

Yup, the day I'm waiting for. The Christmas weekend! :-D Though It's going to be busy, I'll make sure to make the most out of it until next week. Hope I woon't have any more of those Vacation hang-overs like any other vacations does to you. I intend to stay into diet. Don't know if I can make any progress in my present program, I'll make it somehow. Last Tuesday, my girlfriend's brother and sister will come and visit our place. That's nice. I'd teach Alvin a few things Computer Basics. Another 'Padawan' learner. I'm just not a good teacher I should be. I'm not sure if I still have the edge. Been a while. :-(

Anyway, Marlon, if you intend to have a nice peaceful holiday, *DO your favorite hobby for a change. Or better yet, come and join me in my quest for the ultimate Amiga adventures. Soon you'll thank me for this. I'm enjoying every bit of this. :-)

Hark! Both my hard drive free space is comming down to a minimum. less than a gigabytes. I just bought 10 blank CD to do the job. Finally, I'll be able to write it on CD after a long time. Unfortunately, That would take all day to sip through all my wanted and unwanted files. I won't be able to activate my Amiga for now to speed things up. :-)

Hmmm, I tried to visit my hang-out site. Amiga.org, it seems to be down ATM. Another server problem no doubt. Hope they fix it soon.
I just realized it's the only site I visit for forums. Maybe I could try out some other site. But, I'll probably lurk.

Amiga.org is different from other sites. I just hope It's only a minor technicallities.

It's Monday again, looking forward to a nice and restful Chirstmas Vacation until next year. Check my Email and boy! Lots and lots of SPAM!! Perfect for Christmas! So I remembered to downlaod all pictures from my memory and DOH!!!! I left my mobile at home leaving me a bit quite like I'm naked without it. :-( It's only a mobile, yet I felt an attachment to it. But that does not make a good excuse me forget it. DOH!! Well anyway, Last saturday, I forgot to mention the guy who just gave me his 32MB MMCard for *free! Hmmm, I was quite happy about it. I've always wanted a extra memory. Although It had the same capacity of my Existing MMC, I was hoping for something a wee bit larger capacity. Anyway, It's Christmas! What do you expect. This is one miracle! [background music playing 'Aleluya']

Hoping I'd introduce him to Amiga, but I'm still doubtful about his intentions. Still want to make him a close Amigan Ally sooner. :-) [music stops]

I've copied my updated program 'Examiner' to my office back-up so I coould further enhace it. Speaking of which, I already updated the program since yesterday. As always, I was late cause I had to rest and sleep till 6:30 pm yesterday. I was hoping I could have come to Edwin's place but I didn't. I've already created the back files for his music convesion I did the other day. Ready and waiting. Sorry Edwin yet another delay on my part! :-( Hopefully I could deliver the goods before Christmas. I have no office on the 24th. Yikes! I remember, I'm not sure If he's still be here(Manila) on that day! I was thinking of giving him a gift. A box of Floppy Disks! A bit expensive but, that what a true classic Amigan use. :-)

A problem in the statement.

I found a problem in the editmode of my program 'EXAMINER'. It seems the editing of cursor location(for example) 3,5 is displayed at location 1,5. I could not debug the problem yet. There was a black-out with-in the subdivision. Making me decide to pick-up mom and my girlfriend early.

Hopefully, today I'll be able to track the problem.

Hmmm if I recall I used a 'CLW' command before. since I skip that part it seems that I should return it. Maybe, just a hunch. I also decided to extend the length of the Question 'Form' in order to fit the whole sample question.

Christmas Party at the office, Home Alone!

I got my trusty mobile and clicked and clicked all pitures and friend's get together. I won the Christmas raffle, but I can't take the prize. 'Don Pedro'. So in honor of my drinking officemates, I gave it to them.
I also handed all gifts already and I intend to buy 2 more gifts so I could give it this Monday. Well I promise myself to keep away from food with HIGH Cholesterol. The food was good, but since I felt bad the other day, might as well be at the last line so I can have the salads all to myself, which is the only thing that was not much eaten. Some spaghetti was also in the line. Just enough. Felt great. AT least I got all gifts given away to my 'inaanaks'. 2 of them were my officemates'.

Anyway, I'm back home now. Alone BTW. The helper went home to her home town and promised to come back Right now, but No word yet from her. So I'm home alone. I'll continue the program now. Till next blog.

Felt awful last night. ):-(

Feels like I ate something yesterday that poses a high cholesterol risk to my liver. I ate 'congee' after office when I felt hungry and weak. After that by 9 pm I felt my heart rate went to 4Ghz. My feet and hands are cold. I'm hyper-ventilating. :-(

I was doing my program when I felt it. I was unable to pick-up mommy and my girlfriend last night. I felt better after 30 mins. Man, I'm not going to eat those things again. I never knew they are very high in cholesterol level. Kids keep away from them!! Now, I feel much better and just finished a new presentation I was doing and hope it will be enough to be approve. My boss is in a meeting with clients in the conference room along with the vice president and, will follow, our beloved president. Mr burns(heh kidding) Dr Tong. :-D

Making some progress at last...

I'm still doing a few modification on my program 'EXAMINER'. All is going to plan and I'm already finishing the Question and Answer entry for it. Maybe by today, after doing finishing some errand, I'll be able to finish it.
It's a simple database thing, actually, where I create a category, choose it and add, delete, maybe edit the contents of the question, options and the answer. After It's all selected then it's saved to disk. Simple, but it took me a while to recall.

I'll post the procedures here as soon it's finished. The graphics are just Border$ commands. Hmmm, I have not practiced editing text yet. I'll need to re-enable the cursor keys once it's finished. But, for now I'll just have to settle with add and delete for now. At least it's working now. :-)

Passing of a legend, memories of a love one

The Philippine Cinema's Legend, FPJ has pass away. I mourn for his passing. He died Mindnight pass 5 after suffering from a stroke that cause a clog vain to his brain. Making go in a state of coma last Saturday Evening during a Christmas Party. He was rushed to the hospital when he felt a headache. Very many people love him for his Avenging Hero kind of role.

His suffering reminds me of dad. He too suffered from stroke after he ate. Blocked vain is also the culprit. Like they all say, this heart attacks are really a traitor. It comes like a theif, unsuspecting.

Well, just this morning I have to drop-off my sweetheard at work today. She in early and after that I have to take mommy to 'Medical City' for a 2d Echo Dopler Examination.
Later, I help myself for some SubWay tuna sandwhich for lunch. EEEp! P135 for a slice! How expensive! Regular Price is at P110. Anyway, Good lunch. My mommy and my girlfriend's sister had a delicious chicken roll with chopsuey and Rice.

So I back home after Lunch and just remembered to give Edwin's CD conversion again in Mono. I hope I'll be able to meet with him by next week or so. I need also a copy of 'Super Space Invaders' cause mine just went bye-bye from disk corruption.
A little too late to save. :-(

I also intend to get a serial number for my CamCorder for my mobile. It just expired! Arrgh! It's just a demo!

After that I'll continue with my programming for the rest of the day. Anymore Errands would follow after. :-) Hope everything goes in plan. What a perfect Sunday! Nice and quiet. :-D

Freaky Party Cancelled.

Greetings,

It looks like the party was cancelled. Everyone
are gone to their respective assignments. Looks
like We'll be celebrating My girlfriend's sister's
birthday alone with mommy.

I've already found a bug in my program that causes
the mini-editor to have a strange backspacing
problem.

On the WinUAE, under windows98, I have to create
a new partition where I can only Display the
AGA Chipset on workbench. So the configuration
named was 'MyA1200' while the 16-bit displayed
Workbench's configuration is 'MyA1200++' where
the chipset is at ECS Full and Graphics RAM is
at 4 MB, Fast RQM is at 16MB and Chip RAM at
2mb settings. However, the blue screen keeps
popping up using 'MyA1200++' configuration.

Under WinXP, both configurations are perfectly
running fine. Well, I have a free Saturday. I
intend to continue the program and of course,
BLOG! :-D

Some my office mates are planning for a visit
at our house today. They're going to spend the
night until the next day. I'm expecting a little
busy today this weekend.

Just today, under windows98, whenI tried to run
Winuae. Blue screen greeted me when I keep loading
my configuration titled 'My A1200'. Mostly, CPU
set at '040, Chip RAM at 2mb, fast at 8 and Video
ram at 8 mb. Everything was well last week but
it keeps making this blue screen. However, I tried
to run it under WindowsXP. To my surprise, no
problem came. Just plain weird if you ask me.
:-?

Anyway, I'm hopeing I could update the program
I'm doing the other day. Yup, the 'EXAMINER.AMOS'
cause I'd been having some display problems, but
easily mended. Just need a bit more time.

A busy day over. :-)

Greetings,

I finally got all the presentations finished and
now I back for more blogging. :-)
Last Monday Evening I was able to Re-Burn to
CDRW all of my Existing Hard Disk Partitions
and then today I was able to recopy without any
problems all the files needed to update my back
-up here in the office. I was surprised now that
The display grahics has improved. The speed is
way cool to use under winuae. Browsing is a
like walking on water. Before The old configu-
ration is only 8-bit display. Dull. Just like
at home. At least now I can display 16-bit color
video now. Cool to the eyes. A big relief.

I have not started working on my previous program
lately. I hope today I will after I do a little
of the usual blogging. Feels nice actually.
Specuially when most work is done.

I was able to contact my buddy Edwin to check him
out. So far he's fine. I still owe him some audio
conversions. 4 songs acually. I better remind myself
to work on it tonight. Hmmm, another delay for the
program I'm finishing. Till next blog!

My dad's First year death Anniversary.

Greetings,

I'm now going to step asside from my Amiga
rants and give way to our family's special
occation. My dad's 1st year death
anniversary. A year ago, That was a Friday,
and dad was finishing and cleaning our base-
ment. The Floor tiles were newly built and
was finally finished after a long weeks work.
My dad was very happy and rejoicing. Actually,
he was dancing while playing a VCD videoke of
the tune of Britney Spears, Hit me baby one
more time(more like one last time:-( ). Anyway,
I just got home from work early and I decide to
sleep over my parent's room after a bowl of
warm 'Ariscaldo'. I slept from 5pm till 9pm. I
was fast alseep, when I woke up at 9 to pick-up
mommy from work, I notice It was quiet at the
basement. When I decide to check my mobile phone
I came across dad sitting on the sofa. Lifeless..
I had to carry him to the hospital only to find
out he was dead for an hour already. I did not
told mommy what really happened. I just wanted
her to come to the morgue for herself. It breaks
my heart when I saw her cried so hard.

His favorite games on the Amiga to pass out the
time was 'CIVILIZATION', 'The Patrician', 'Dune2'
and old time favorite 'PIRATES!' on the C64 and
Amiga version.

He also knwe Mr.Ross. I'm sure he remembered him
when I camme by to his former place back in Bulacan
to help me fix-up and convert my PC power supply
to my Amiga socket.

I cried again later when I got hold on a copy of
'The settlers'. I was promising dad I'd show this
game. But he's no longer here. :-(

I love you dad! May you rest in peace. This Blog
is for you.

Last Monday, while I was out fixing the car. It was raining sooo hard all day until I went to bed, later. Last night I watch the local news only to find out the extent of the damage that cause by the heavy rains. Landslides at nearby provinces and close to ours, lower portion near the river banks, the overflowing river cause alot of death and destruction in it's wake. :-(

The aftermat was a horrible picture of destruction. Partly to blame to illigal loggers, as some politician and local environmentalists point out. I say, It's been happening for a long time now. It's just ticking time bomb they just set.

This blog is dedicated to those people who lost their lives and loved once in the wake of the storm.

The Amiga story has a lots of ups and downs to name a few, here a bit of a story:

After Commodore went bankrupt, there was ESCOM. ESCOM went bankrupt too cause they had to sholder all Commodore debts. Then after ESCOM was GATEWAY(not the mall here in Cubao;-P) Inc.After Gateway could not handle the pressure brought by the demands of much of the users now AMIGA Inc. Who later gave the rights to upgrade the new OS OS4 to Hyperion. While all hell breaks loose at AMiga inc, They sold the rights now to KMOS Inc.

All of these are just tid bits you'll read from Amiga University. Go there now and find the link the History in chronological order. You'll see the humble beginnings of the 'Lorrain' Project to Amiga OS4 and some screen shots.
The commodore billboard site has all the archives of the marketing materials from Commodore.

Hope you'll continue the journey to enlightment. But the best to know Amiga is to REALLY own one. Not the Emulator. It's still different. Although, in term of advancement, I still find the classics better than the emulated version(WINUAE).
Hopefully, the next generation Amigas will do fill-in the gap where the classics left off. Someday... only time could tell.

Missing Program :-(

I has to come to my attention that my version 5.27a is really missing. Thus, I'm unable to modify or update the present version anymore. At least I manage to save the earlier version prior to version 5.27. Anyway, on with the show and if there are any updates for it the better. I'll might as well upload the *only version of it. Unless I go back to my college and find the remains of source disk I left a copy there. If I recall It's still in amiga format. But I doubt I can still find it too. The Amiga formatted disk is really unstable over time, sometimes.

Anyway, during the weekend I manage to continue doing my Emaminer.amos program. I'm doing a mini-editor routine and will continue to do so. DOH!! I didn't bring the updated version at home. Anyway, I'll just recreate it here in the office again. ;-)
Hoping for a not so busy day today.

BTW, It was my girlfriend's day-off and also I had to fix the car from my dad's friend cause he knows so much about cars and stuff all day yesterday. There were oli leaking from... I don't know where the hell it came from :-?. Well, thanks to him the car is ok.

Missing Program :-o

I'm now in the progress of checking the remains of my once collection of amos data disk to find in the ruble all the remains of my last updated version of the porgram I design, "Super Fantasy Fighter.", all I found ATM are the Disk Version(my down sized version) of the program but the source code is missing and all the other modification I already made. The last time I've seen them was on my *old HD cap120MB. But that HD was long dead back in 2000, probably. I was looking also the disk back-up of it, if it still here.
Man, I don't care if its filled with fungus and dirt, as long as I find it soon.

So much I have changed it since version 5.27b.

As mentioned, everythings is perfectly in tune. I'd finally blogging from the confort of my own home. You see before, when my girlfriend still has no job yet, I need to keep her company MOST of the time or she'll go balistic! Now that she's working, I can freely use the computer as I please from 1pm till 8:30pm. What a very looong time(7 hours). Uninterupted time with my Amiga and me. During the week days, just an hour or less at times. No, this is not a rant cause everything's just I predicted. Diaboloical me. >:-)

Anyway, it's short lived cause I'll be going to fix the car tomorow, though. So my time would be spent outside home. :-(

I've finally finished the new presentation my boss told me to do. He just left for a client, leaving me alone again, which is good BTW, but, tired. My eyes need some rest. Don't even know If I can continue my Amos. Well I'm blogging at the moment. he he.. well I could use a rest for a minute or two.

At least I finally got my 13th month pay and I hope to clear-up as much debt as possible with so little. I see need to clear a few credit cards so I could just get rid of those soon as I'm fully paid. Grrrr...

Hmm planning to buy some more blank CD for back-up both office files and Home files.

Anyway, soon as I get enough stress out, I'll fire up AMosPro to continue it. ;-)

Another Fine Day

Things are not so bad today. Well, almost. There is the Nation Wide Transport Strike today. Stranding thousands of commuters. However it may look bad later the day, I'm sure things will be fine after this. I was able to get to work on time. My boss didn't came to work today cause he lives far from our workoplace.

At present, I'm doing my Program while blogging. Gosh so much in my mind so little time. Yet, I'm savoring every moment of enjoyment! :-) I feel like a 10 year old! ;-)

Today, the office network was back on-line again after a long time of struggle. Finally, It's fixed.
To add to the list, my boss is half-day today and after timing-in, he again left for a client call. Leaving me again here alone in the office free to do a few things. Like, download some Mobile software upgrades. Hmm, I found a C64 emulator for the N6600 called Frodo. I'll give it a try soon. :-) I also downloaded a few themes like Spiderman2 themes. It looks nice.
Finally to add to the list for a perfect Wednesday, my girlfriend finally got a new job. I'm so happy that she finally has it. Giving me more time out for my programming at home, finally. :-)

For now I'll just browse in on AmosPro and start doing what I need to do. Right now, I have to ideas, but I hope something will come out. Till next Blog.

Trouble on the network again!?! Argh!

The Office Network seems to be under attack.
It interminttently disconnecting itself from
the internet, causing delay laps on the
network.

So since I need to check some of my programs
in AMOSPro, I can seem to run test it cause
I'm a bit uncomfortable about running games
in the office. :-(

Well It's Friday again tomorrow but I have
done anything all this week cause I'm busy
downloading files and materials for the office
presentation I was setting. I just hope I'll
be free tomorrow till Monday. Hmmmm.

After Reading about the sad news on MOS makes me feel the same with all the other community. But what's important now is to move on and see what's future in store for the remaining community(in general). The Amiga/MOS community has suffered long enough already. Even if the people behind MOS would get paid in full, the wound already inflicted here is deep. All I can say here that these people would loose faith in the platform/community and eventually quit, in the long run. All they will hold are grudges and bad sentiments over issues that conspired to this event.
Dejavu. I don't want to comment further about the current situation. I'm only hoping that this will be resolve soon enough. Sad sad day. :-(

Today, I called to my loan angency, if my
cheque is already available for pick-up. It's
ready for pick-up anytime today. I'm planning
to get it today, hopfully to deposite the
funds. But, at the moment, my boss is away and
no one here is left to man the department.
I also SMS my friend Marlon to check him
out, yesterday. He answered a bit late
yesterday so I replyed today. I found out that
he has a part time job that his folks don't
know. My advice to you, Marlon, let them know
and apporve it, whether they want to or not.
If you still want the job, It's best that
someone else know about it other than his
folks. Like a girl friend, or our master. :-D
I have a bit of a squeeze here all of the
sudden. I'll probably BLOG that tomorrow.

Problems here and Politics there!

Yesterday, I was unable to blog due to the
office network is starting to sever again and
again. Since I'm not that busy with a lot of
work, I decided to check on my favorite game
i'm designing right now, using AMOSPro,
'NETWORRIOR'. I'm still trying to re-call all
varialbles and how the game runs. It was last
update, maybe back in 2000. Wow, quite a long
time. Now, I'm getting getting it back in
circulation since it's almost identical to my
cardgame i'm designing. Cause the idea was..
maybe I wont discuss the idea here in Blog.
Maybe after I've finished the game.
Today, I've visited my lang-out site, Amiga.Org
only find out, they'd been through a lot of
problems themselves. Any post after Oct 9 was
forever losts. Good thing I never posted as
much back then cause the issue was, often at
CH(coffee house), is politics. Man, I don't
know, but I never like politics. I get so
irritated and annoyed from the 'Noise' it
'resonate' from the discussions and posts. I
don't often posts anything on Politics thread.
I did that once. The topic was about the
possible civilwar if there was failure of
elections. I guess that's not gonna happen
because Bush won anyway. The Votes was almost
a 50-50 side. Hmmm, make me wonder It could end
up like that. Now that it's over. Actual votes
ended 51-49. Quite close there. Anyway, so much
for politics. Local politics here is much noisier
and unrully. I commend US election for a fast
result tally. Unlike here, I took alsomst a
month just to count. Till next BLOG!

It has been a busy week. Now weekend is fast
approching. Bush is STILL the president of US.
I'm still alive and kicking. Just this morning
I SMS Mr Ross. I ask if he could come this
weekend. Well, unfortunately he also busy with
tons of work as well. :-( too bad. I told him
I'd offer him the 2 monochrome monitor that I
still have, hoping to get rid of soon. They
still work BTW, but needs a few maintenance. I
am sure he'll be please to see it and my place
soon. Too bad my dad's not around anymore to
know them, well at lease he knew Mr. Ross.

I also hope that Marlon would also come soon.
I'll be looking forward to meet him personally
too. I want to show how nice WinUAE and the
Amiga, in general is. Specailly running under
WineDOH!s XP.

Vacation Hang overs. *sigh

BTW, Belated Happy Holloween to all. Alas! I'm suffering from, mostly called, the
weekend-vacation-hang-over. Monday is a national holiday, still I could not feel the
reset I want. I was able to talk with my girlfriend. A sweet and intimate talk, I
might add. :-D

Well,the week is over and work starts off again, but I intend to make it productive
in a way. I lost my certification and company ID last year from theives. I was
thniking I'd get my afidavit of loss today. I hope this week would be free for now
till the end of Ramadan on the 15'th this month. Well, another holiday. I miss
doing a little Amos programming. :-(

On the Amiga side, I also backed-up my Harddisk at home so I can recopy/update it
again here at the office partition. Hope everything goes to plan for the rest of the
week for me. :-D

Yesterday, I was assigned to a client to
evaluate a certain software and would recommend
3 more. I finally passed the reports today.
*Whew
I'm hoping to be a free Friday today so I can
work on my Amos Program. I feel excited at the
same time upset on the backup copy of my file.

Actually I can't find my original finished
file. The files I found were my early updates
on my game. Anyway I hope to improve it, but
that will require Lots of time. So I was
thinking if I'll just modify the program to the
right speed of an accelerated amiga. I runs
pretty fast under WinUAE. Pretty cool, I might
add. By the time I finish this I'll upload this
to AMOS Factory.

WinUAE Up and running again.

I'm talking about my WinUAE 0.8.25 beta 1
under windows98se. I finally got it running
and working properly. Like new. Now I can have
some time tweaking AMOSPro and my recent
program.

I also downloaded the recent release 0.9.90,
I'm still having a difficult time configuring
it cause I just locks up my PeeCee. I'll stick
to the old one I'm used to, for now ;-)

Tired but glad

For the past weekend, been busy helping out a friend. It was Sunday afternoon, my dad's friend called to help him of his PC delemma. As I tried to boot, the CD Drive(which is an old 4x drive) can't seem to read my CD copies of my OS Installers except My WinXP Installer. The only mistake I made is not brining my OLD 24x speed CDRom with me. It could have made my job easier. I promise to return this thursday to make a dual boot of XP and Win98. The software he's using is not compatible with XP and on hardware configuration, only the internal modem is not updated. I need the modem for the drivers update. ):
Yesterday, I helped my girlfriend's sister look for a job, so we went around places and pass around resume from one company to another. We went home late in the afternoon, unable to eat lunch on time. Tired and hungry otherwise a productive day. :-)
Today, this morning, My posts at Amos factory is finally answered the same day I posted. Although time differential is the main problem cause I'm ahead 8 hours and I never had time to go on-line all weekend. I post a new topic on AMAL's and how to convert it to .ABK. Samurai Cow was helping me out to sort this problem. Sure glad he'll posts the code needed to deal with my problem. Soon as I re-code my old AmosPro game I'll be able to upload it there as well. Gizz here with another blog. It seems I forgot to bring my Win2000 and AF6 installer to work. Argh! To top it all, I'm free all afternoon. Some Friday this turns out to be. Might as well wait until 5pm. Hmmm, I visited Amos Factory but it seems like it's not much visited today? ATM No one has replied to my New User posts? Kind of odd for a forum site to be, quite quiet? Anyway, judging from the posts, I say I took them a bit longer before it was answered. I just hope those and other Amiga related site won't be that quiet too someday.

I'm keeping an eye on one of my officemate here. He seems to be interested on Amiga? I smell new blood? :-D

WindowsXp Service Pack 2 Rel 2 problem...

Been several days since I can't get online. Service Pack 2 release 2 of WindowsXP was not very friendly on my system. Now, I've re-installed the OS. Still it's slow. My emulation is crap! Very much slow. Now I can't emulate my Amiga very fast for the moment. I miss using my A1200. Although I still have it, but can't use it much at home cause I'm always with my girlfriend. I don't want to leave her often.
Anyway, I was thinking of purging this OS and degrade it to Windows 2000 Pro. It really wasted my time and efforts. I hate it(XpSP2Rel2). Maybe I'll try to Re-install OS next week. Hmmm maybe tomorrow, forgot my CD at home.

Gosh! Accidents happens when least expected.

I've busy all day yesterday that I forgot to blog my way through. Anyway, I'm back for more blogging.

Some how, yesterday the trouble started when I accidentally deleted all of my C dir of System:. I'm unable to boot from my Amiga Drive. Until today I have to copy from CD again my from my CDRW back-up. All is fine again.

Also, today, Mr Ross told me his A500 can't read/boot from the backup copy of his relokick. He not used to shell commands. I'm thinking maybe all I need to do is create the .ADF disks from WB1.3 under Relokick 1.3 from my A1200 and extract that on my High Density Drive. I hope that would fix the problem. The orginal file was .zipped anyway so I can carry that on a DD format(400K). As always, WB1.3 can't read a high density floppy drive. Unless someone would comment on this procedure. I'm open to suggestions. :-) Or maybe I could post this question on Amiga.org. Maybe an answer would pop. :-)

A Freind in need

Yesterday, one of the database in the office
were starting to bugdown. My friend can't seem
to override the error. Even if they tried to
reset the server, the error keeps on popping.
He asked for my help, but I can't seem to fix
the problem, but I was able to identify the
source of the problem. I was a certain current
user unable to update a certain module.
Although I might be able to guess how it works
but I just don't want to make it worse that it
already is. I leave that part on my former
boss on that department. Unfortunately he
can't be reached and he resigned two weeks
already. So It all I can do.

I finally got Mr Ross's new batch he needs for
his Amiga. I just hope I'll be able to contact him today.

Busy but Nice Weekend

Ohhh man! What a weekend that was. I have to visit my Fiance. Been there all day,
but it's worth it. Saturday, I have to treat her mother out on a lunch date. Sunday,
I visit their place and get to meet her dad. Had a quiet chat. Really good people
they are and I like them. :-)

I had to finish Mr Ross disk. He returned 6 of them for a new copy. Just too busy over
the weekend to do it, so I need to finish it tonight so by the next day all is well.
I try to contact him today to ask how he fares with the copy of WB and how he ever used
the TransADF.

Hectic week almost over

Now that the week is finally over, guess it's blogging time again.
It's a busy week today.
I've manage to burn a copy of my whole partitions to CDRW. The copy of my HDD from my A1200's information stored. I'll be testing a few things there soon as I get it copy to my office pc.

I've receive the disk that did not work properly with his unit. By Monday, hopefully I'll be able to give him a better copy.

A new Blood & A new Program

Marlon has SMS me this morning. He decided to try out the Amiga on his
P4- XP pro PC. I hope I'll be free this afternoon like yesterday so I
can give him all the information he needs to know on Emulating the
Amiga. Also, I hope my office's ISP problem will not happen again cause
It really pisses me up ):-C.
Finally, a new blood deciple to convert... he he he... Hail the Amiga!!
;-)

I feel glad to see a new fellow amigan. I might also teach him to BLOG
in the long run. :-P

Speaking of yesterday, I was able to continue to work on a program I'd
been itching to try. Here's the theme. It's a rather like a DOS
environment, with a Blinking Block cursur. Right now, I will tell the
rest as soon as it's finally done. I have a stupid tendency not to finish
one personal project once I started it.

I can't finish it at home becuase I need to have time for my loving
fiance. :-D She's always a source of inspiration to me. She makes me
whole! :-D I love her. :-D

ISP Problem Strikes Back!

Greetings,

As always, the office ISP is having one of those days where you can't
hardly browse the web. So I written this Blog in a way to vent it for
the moment. Har!!

ATM it's lunch break. Shortly, I'll be free for the whole afternoon
after I do some errand or two. Then I'll be going to get My AmosPro
Up and running again.

Yesterday, I got busy from doing a little checklisting the whole CDROM
catalog and A few hardware too.

I'll be blogging some more tomorrow as work slowly progress. I'm still
undecided to which program to design. Bye for now..

That reminded me of Marvin's problem. I just hope I'll be able to help
him out. I want him to experience the Amiga emulation on his PC. At least,
to complete his skills as a 'Padawan Learner'. Amigans, like Jedi are
quite few and most are sometimes on the BLUE, RED and Beige sides.

Beige are the classic users, BLUE are MorphOS, RED are AmigaOnes. I just
wish that all Amigans unite for a common interests. When would such a
time come? Only time can tell. As long as MorphOS, A1OS, Classic AOS are
still being use. The fire keeps on burning.

Gizz72 Blogs again.... I recheck Ross' copy and confirm that it is CorssDos capable. The L
has Crossdos, devs has mfm.device, finally
DOSDrivers folders has PC0, and PC1 has the
mountlist for automounting on boot time.

I think he'll send a messenger by today. I
feel glad to help out.

As soon as my place is a bit neat now after a
rather moving day yesterday, I work on my AMOS
program problem today. I'm still not sure what
to do today but, I'll be expecting the boss to
give me some pointers of my task.

About me and my girlfriend. We celebrated mommy's
birthday yesterday at a restaurant. Mommy still
miss my dad a lot, but she's much better coping
now than before. I miss him too. His nightly
errand with Civilization. BTW that's his all time
favorite game and The Patrician.

Finally!

Goodness, what a chaotic start in the office.
I had to clean my new place so I have to
transfer from my old. There were problems in
the internet connection, but as I settle down
now it's finally fixed. So I'm back for more
Blogging!!

It has been a wonderful weekend. I finally got
all the copies I need for Ross and ready to go.
He ask for a few copies of old Workbench becuase
all his orginal disk were badly corrupted and
no way to recover it after, hmmm 4 years of
neglect! He's been through a devorce. Which made
him leave his C64 and Amiga collections for the
moment. Now that everything is settledm, he's
starting a new. I owe him a lot so I'd offer him
my help.

I just hope he'll figure it out how he'll be able
to extract an .ADF files from PC to Amiga. I shoukld
have made a boot disk that has cross dos built-in
with Unadf to do all the dirty work. Maybe next
time.

Silent Thursday, Yin Yang Friday

Greetings,

Yesterday, the ISP where my office is connected was down all afternoon.
I was busy at the same time making presentation and updated the company
website. Me and my boss had to file an overtime so we could finish it
till 9pm local time.

Today, since the work is done, something came up. As I was testing the
different possibilities of that bug between WINUAE and AMOSPro. I called
home to check on my girlfriend. Yes, I checked her to let her know I'm
not late today and tell her I love her. But as she answer the phone she
seems bored! I have no reason why she should. She told me she want to
look for a job. I don't know what to say. I'm completely blank. I hope
to resolve this problem this evening, soon as I get back.

I feel like blogging all day about this. I must stop here about my girl
friend for now.

Since I feel a bit upset about this I don't feel like discussing tech
things for now. :-( I'll get back soon as I gather enough strength.

Poor me!

Anyway, about the problem on AMOSPro. It seem to disappear when I use the
rom 1.3 image and boot from the disk drive(adf file). The bug on changing
values at DIR$ does not manifest any problem. Hmmm, at least this will
do for now, beacuse AMOSPro is more compatible with older configurations
and floppy operations. I try to continue this program despite my sudden
lack of interest of it. :-(

Other things in my mind

Greetings,

Most of the network here in the office are
unstable. Now I'm back here for more blogging.

I've finally configured Aweb and updated a new
beta version 3.5.1 Feels a bit stable. The only
problem is that when I bookmark my favorite site
like amiga(dot)org, The whole emulator stops
without any error message or anything. Really
odd, but I'm able to get it running someother
sites like this one.

I tried to erase the cache but same problems
persists. Hope to resolve this on my own for now.

Since today the boss seems to ignore me for now
if there are any work, I get in my own passtime.
AMOS... :-)

Anyway, I'm no expert at this. The other day, about
a week ago, I'm trying a certain program like opening
sequential file. I seem to encounter a bug between
AMOSPro and WINUAE.

DIR$='...dirpath/." seems to be not working. I can't
change the directory. I tends to crash the WHOLE
WinDOHs. BTW I'm using Win98SE. I having a hell of a
bad time here.... Just hope I could get this running
soon or drop the whole thing.

The reason I've encountered this problem is that I'm
trying to make a simple program for my girlfriend.
She was reviewing some multiple choice exam and I thought,
maybe I'll try to practice my programming skills in
making this simple program again. Complete with scoring
and editable options.

Well that ruins everything when DIR$=' ' does not work
at all. I've run and tested other sample program it seem
to work for a while then I crashes my WINDOHS!

Anyway I'll be back soon for another Blogging time.

Well it looks like I have this day on the wraps. I finally finished some presentation and a few revisions. I just could not help why I never have the time at home. I just need to make some favors for Ross to be filled. I doubt I will due to the tremedous attention I need to give for my girlfriend. :-)

I very happy she's with me. At some point when I'm idle, all I could think of is her. *sigh

Hello, My name is Gilbert T. Tan and I live in the Philippines. My interests are Amiga Computers. Sometimes C64.

I've published this BLOG using IBrowse2.3. I been an Amiga user/AMIGAN since 1997 when I bought my first A500. I still have it.

My Present system is an Amiga1200 with Viper1230/30Mhz with a 16Mb EDO RAM. I usually go on-line with my dial-up 52k Modem.

My Amigas maybe be out-to-date, but I love the darn thing. It's now a hobby computer, as so many other users put it.

My favorite Programming laguage I use is AMOSPro v2.00. I've got throgh colleage with-out using a PC.

I'm new to this BLOG thing. Keep you all posted as I try to be nostalgic about my Amiga.

As of this writing, I'm at the office emulating my Amiga using AmigaForever v6.0. I really the best emulation so far.
